The Problem
A multi-site auto dealership with 10 locations in the United States engaged Advizex initially to discuss renewing licensing on their existing Palo Alto firewalls.
During those conversations, Danny Jones — who had an existing relationship with the organization — identified an opportunity to reassess the dealership’s VeloCloud SD-WAN environment. The SD-WAN was aging and presented an opening to pursue a replacement rather than perform a license renewal.
At the time, the customer’s existing contracts were valid through July 2026, so there was no immediate expiration. However, moving to a more flexible, modern platform was appealing.
The Solution
Advizex collaborated with Cato Networks to propose a Secure Access Service Edge (SASE) architecture combining Software-Defined Wide Area Networking (SD-WAN) and Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA).
To enable an early, low-risk transition, Cato offered a free subscription during the ramp-up period. This allowed the client to begin migration efforts nearly nine months before their existing licensing ended.
The client selected Advizex based on trust built through prior engagements with Danny and the broader confidence they had in Advizex’s presales and services teams.
The Implementation
Advizex provided professional services for deployment, replacing the customer’s VeloCloud setup with a Cato Networks SASE platform across all 10 sites.
The deployment introduced centralized control for network and security policies and integrated ZTNA to support secure access from distributed locations.
The Technology
• Cato Networks for SD-WAN and ZTNA
• Advizex professional services for deployment and support
This architecture supports centralized policy management, network access across distributed locations, a single-vendor platform replacement for aging components, and a simplified transition plan completed well ahead of contract expiration.
The Impact
• Total project value: $900,000
• Margin: $200,000
• Sales cycle length: 3 months
By engaging early, the client avoided a last-minute migration. The environment was scoped, deployed, and operational well before existing licenses expired.
The Conclusion
What began as a routine licensing check-in evolved into a full SASE deployment completed ahead of schedule. The client chose Advizex because of a long-standing, trusted relationship. That trust, plus early coordination among vendors and partners, enabled a smooth transition with ample time to spare.
